Plant Dyeing

Plant dyeing has been a technique which I've wanted to try long before even starting to study textile design. Working with natural materials and dyeing them with growings in nature is in it’s process already very connecting and grounding, strengthening the relation with the nature and the material that you're working with. Searching and collecting the plants in the nature, reading and learning more about them before using them for the dyeing process, is a valuable experience besides the final results itself.

Plants that I used in my dyeing process were saw-wort Serratula tinctoria, common heather Calluna vulgaris, carrot “Deep Purple”, chokeberries, calendula, Malva sylvestris L., yarrow Achillea millefolium, common nettle.
