TEXTURAL FRAGMENTS  2024

The following photographs are a visual research of natural materials, textures and substances of solid and liquid bodies that lay in the nature of Iceland. The unique volcanic landscape and the distinctive weather conditions of the insular scenery give the island a peculiar view, representing its beauty by resistant plants, minerals and rocks that have been forming there in the past 15 000 years. The colourful and highly exotic matters of Icelandic nature arouse a great interest in understanding the core elements of what it takes to form an island, including the extreme weather conditions and natural catastrophes that have taken place there in the past. This could be taken as an ongoing research about the peculiarities of nature, which in its process teaches even more to respect and take care of it.
