Canto a la Madre Naturaleza

The given jacquard piece is a detail from my painting “Canto a la Madre Naturaleza” (“Song to Mother Nature”) that went missing in 2022 while travelling to an exhibition by post. The remaining low quality photograph of the painting made it possible to transfer the meaningful work into a new form, using the technology of jacquard weaving. The work depicts silhouettes of a French fig tree, painted with red vine, plants and leaves found from the location and a face that has been transferred from Micahel Armitage’s painting “Paradise Edict” that was the main inspiration for the work.
